The third Shaam-Sneha collaboration

Inba, spelt onscreen as Inbaa, is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language masala film directed by S. T. Vendan. Released on 21 March 2008, which was Good Friday, it stars Shaam and Sneha, while Arun Pandian has an antagonistic role.

The film marked the third collaboration between Shaam and Sneha, after Yai! Nee Romba Azhaga Irukey! and ABCD.

Priya under Inba's guard

Inba is a rough character employed by Malai Ganesan as bodyguard to Ganesan’s sister Priya. Priya spends most of her time with friends and is absent from college several times. She dislikes having somebody guard her constantly, and repeatedly insults Inba.

Priya falls for Inba, though he rejects her. When Malai Ganesan learns of the affair, he opposes it by beating Inba. Inba then recounts his school love for a girl named Jyothi.

Critical response and Telugu version

P. B. Balaji composed the music in his debut. A Rediff.com critic gave the film one out of five stars, criticising its standard dialogue and writing that the climax left audiences relieved to leave cramped seats. Sify gave it a below-average verdict, calling its twists predictable and saying the Shaam-Sneha romance failed to engage.

Sudhish Kamath of The Hindu called it “the most inspiring piece of Tamil cinema” and wrote that its maker showed that anyone could make a movie. Cinesouth gave the film a negative review.

Following the success of Kick, also featuring Shaam, Inbaa was partially reshot in Telugu as Neelo Naalo. Nandhu directed the Telugu version, featuring Sunil and Junior Relangi, with Kothapalli Ramakrishna as cinematographer.
