Twins separated after Misra's escape

Released in 1994, Hello Brother is an Indian Telugu-language action comedy directed by E. V. V. Satyanarayana and produced by K. L. Narayana. Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna and Soundarya star, while Raj and Koti composed the music. It was the highest-grossing Telugu film of 1994.

The film is loosely based on the 1992 Hong Kong action comedy Twin Dragons, starring Jackie Chan. Twin Dragons is described as an adaptation of the 1982 Bengali film Shathe Shathyang, starring Ranjit Mallick. Hello Brother later led to the Hindi remakes Judwaa in 1997 and Judwaa 2 in 2017, and the Kannada film Cheluva in 1997.

Deva and Ravi Varma meet

Dacoit Misra is arrested by SP Chakravarthy and tries to attack him. Chakravarthy shoots Misra in the leg, leading to Misra's hospitalisation. At the same hospital, Chakravarthy awaits his pregnant wife Geetha, who gives birth to twins. A doctor says that the boys have reflection mentality, in which pain felt by one is reflected in the other according to their distance.

Misra escapes, takes one infant and hurts Geetha. Chakravarthy cannot recover the child and shoots Misra, but the separated twin's reflected pain saves his brother. A female laborer witnesses this, and her husband takes the child. They adopt him, later have a daughter, and are eventually killed in an accident at a construction site, leaving their children orphaned.

The abducted twin, Deva, grows into a thief alongside Kasi, another orphan. Geetha falls into a coma, and Chakravarthy takes her to America for treatment. The other twin, Ravi Varma, is brought up there and returns to India as a rock star for performances. Chakravarthy's friend receives Ravi at the airport and hopes that he will marry his daughter Manga, although Manga loves Deva.

Ravi falls for Ooha, daughter of Akkamamba, who organises his programmes. Akkamamba's brother Simhachalam wants to marry Ooha. At home, Manga makes advances towards Ravi because she thinks he is Deva. The identical brothers later see each other in a restaurant, causing misunderstandings.

Mitra's revenge and the 1994 honours

Kasthuri, Deva's sister, sees Mitra, Misra's son and a flutist, murder an inspector on the road. The inspector had refused to remain corrupt and was to give evidence against Mitra in court. Mitra attempts to rape Kasthuri, and Deva fights him. Seeking revenge, Mitra sends a henchman as Kasthuri's prospective groom, but Deva defeats the plan and arranges her marriage to another man. Deva obtains evidence of Mitra's crimes, and Mitra is jailed and sentenced to death.

Months later, Kasthuri is admitted to hospital to give birth. Deva asks Ravi to remain with her while he searches for money. Ravi visits Chakravarthy as Mitra kills a new inspector, escapes from jail and goes to the hospital to kidnap Kasthuri. Mitra recognises Chakravarthy as the man who killed Misra and learns that Deva is Chakravarthy's son. He blackmails Deva, who does not know Chakravarthy is his father, into seeking Kasthuri's release.

Principal photography began with the song “Priya Raagaley.” The film was dubbed into Tamil under the same title. In a 6 May 1994 review for Zamin Ryot, Griddaluru Gopalrao appreciated the director's moulding of the characters and noted that the fast-paced screenplay generated humour in nearly every scene. At the 1994 Nandi Awards, Raj and Koti received Best Music Director, S. Gopal Reddy received Best Cinematographer, and Ravindra Babu received Best Editor.
